Episode 3
In this episode, I spoke with Natalie Devora, the author of Black Girl, White Skin: A Life in Stories, about how albinism plays into other aspects of identity, and her experience of learning to accept albinism as a part of her identity.
[3:53]: The NOAH conference is a bi-annual conference for people with albinism and their families, hosted by the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation. The conference that Natalie Devora references in her book as the first NOAH conference she attended was the 2014 conference in San Diego, CA.
[6:37]: NOAH connections are a series of virtual programs for people with albinsm and their families with specific focus towards age, identity, and interest groups. Some examples of NOAH connections programs include teen connections, young adult connections, parent connections (for parents of people with albinism), BIPOC connections, and LGBTQ+ connections.
[8:59]: This is the episode of LIFE WITH ALBINISM that I referenced. The section I mentioned starts at 6:20, but I recommend watching the full episode!
